Ferrous Metals

Ferrous metals are those that contain iron. They are known for their strength, durability, and magnetic properties. Common examples include steel, cast iron, and wrought iron. These metals are widely used in construction, automotive manufacturing, and heavy machinery. However, they are also prone to rust when exposed to moisture, unless treated or alloyed.

Non-Ferrous Metals

Non-ferrous metals, on the other hand, do not contain iron. They are generally more resistant to corrosion and are lighter than ferrous metals, making them ideal for applications in electronics, aerospace, plumbing, and more. Examples include aluminum, copper, brass, lead, zinc, and nickel. These metals are often more valuable due to their specific properties and wider range of uses.
